Ok, now I know we all know my feelings on these socialist, Marxist, liberals running for president. I think all 3 of the mainstream candidates suck. McCain is a war hero and I respect him for that. He is the only one of the 3 that I can say I respect at all. I do not, however respect his political views. However, there is one person running who is much more dangerous than the others, Obama. This guy has the same political views as former President Jimmy Carter. This is very dangerous. If you watch or listen to his speeches, you can clearly see that he contradicts himself quite often. If you vote for him it's a vote for "change" and "hope", he says. Well, here's the "hope" and "change" he is offering.
"The Global Poverty Act", sponsored by Obama and many Democrat religious groups, would enslave the U.S. to spending 0.7 percent of gross national product on foreign aid. This amounts to a "jaw-dropping" 13-year total of $845 billion over what the U.S. already spends in foreign aid. If you thought taxes where ridiculous before, just wait for this bill.
Now, for all of you that say "the U.S. needs to quit getting involved in other countries problems" and "we need to worry about our own problems". This is a huge sign of things to come. Instead of worrying about our own issues, Obama, plans to get more involved in other countries' problems, take more of your hard earned money away through taxation, and in my honest opinion, begin handing our country over to be governed by the corrupt United Nations. Yes, that's the "hope" and "change" he's talking about. Redistribution of wealth, labeling every one who questions him a racist, eliminating your freedoms, pledging allegiance to Africa instead of the U.S., and enslaving us, the U.S.A., to the U.N. This is what he offers. Not to mention elimination of the free market.
So, if you plan on voting for the most radical, leftist this country has ever seen, you should be prepared to accept responsibility for this future.

Sounds like a guilty conscious to me
G.W. Bush was recently in Israel speaking at the 60th birthday of the nation. He spoke about many things but, one thing he mentioned, in particular has made headlines across the nation. He said , "Some seem to believe we should negotiate with terrorists and radicals, as if some ingenious argument will persuade them they have been wrong all along." Democrat candidate Barrack Hussein Obama took this as a direct attack on him. Why? Did he say his name? Did he mention his party? No, on both counts. He did not. Barrack Obama took this as an attack on him because he has a guilty conscious and has in fact said in a CNN/ YouTube debate this past July, that he would meet the leaders of Iran, North Korea, Venezuela, Syria, and Cuba “without preconditions”. Iran and Syria are two of the most well known state sponsors of terrorism. In fact just a few hours before Air Force One landed in Israel for the ceremony a Grad type rocket, which is produced in Iran, was launched from Gaza and slammed into a shopping mall in the southern Israel city of Ashkelon injuring many innocent people including women and children.
So, my question for you, Mr. Obama, how can you say that you would meet with these nations, without preconditions? Why are you attacking the president saying that you never said that when you did?
I do not support the president in everything he does, just like I did not like his support of the Immigration "Amnesty" Bill, not a bit. I have to say though, he was speaking the truth and for you to immediately fire back at him for saying this just shows me and the rest of the world one thing, you have a guilty conscious. Also, you say that it is wrong to attack the other political figures when they are on foreign soil, I see way more attacks mentioning names of the one your party is attacking coming from your side of the isle rather than the Republican, Conservative, and Libertarian side combined.

Bob Barr '08 : The Libertarian Candidate

With my disgust of the current "2 Party System", I have decided I cannot vote Republican or Democrat in the presidential election, as we do not share the same views. The current candidates for president, McCain, Obama, and Clinton all seem to support many of the same views which, by the way, I do not share. They are all supporting "Big Government", that alone is enough for me to walk away. I can not and will not support a candidate that supports and/ or writes a bill allowing illegal aliens to break our laws, get a free ride to citizenship, and all the while using the tax payers money, which the illegals themselves do not pay, to support them and their family through welfare, social security, government education, college tuition programs, medicaid/ medicare, etc. and God only knows what other parts of the system they are exploiting.
So, with that being said, I am going to support Bob Barr for the prestigious and most powerful position and office in the world, The President of the United States of America. Bob Barr, former Republican Congressman of Georgia, is a very well spoken and conservative man with Christian morals and values. He believes in the United States of America, the American people, our constitution, and our bill of rights. He supports less government, less power of the government, and less government spending. He is an advocate and supporter of the Fair Tax Plan and the repeal of the 16th amendment. He also supports individualism and freedom rather than socialism or communism like the other candidates.
As mentioned in my other post you should take the time to review the Libertarian Party and the candidate Bob Barr.

2 Party System?!?
We have all been around long enough to know there is only 2 parties that will win in a presidential election. I am here today to tell you that is a farce. The republican party, after things that I have seen and heard in the last week, have made it quite obvious that they are almost, if not exactly, the same as the democrat party. In the past I have seen major differences between the two parties. The stance on things such as well fare, social security, economics, and taxes, just to name a few. Today I have come to the realization that the current candidates for president, Rep. John McCain, Dem. Barack Hussein Obama, and Dem. Hillary Clinton are all pushing for the same thing, a bigger more intrusive government, more social programs and well fare, and a way to make "Illegal Aliens", thats right, I said it and I'll say it again, "Illegal Aliens" to be made legal and without any real consequence.
Note: I actually realized this some time ago, I just thought McCain would see the light if he got this far and come home to his base rather than distance himself further away from it.
All three of the candidates I mentioned above are bad for the country. The only way I can bring myself to the voting booth in November is to vote for a different candidate. I am actually considering "throwing away", as some people would say, my vote on a third party candidate because of this. The truth is I won't be throwing my vote away. I, along with a bunch of others , will be, at the bare minimum, making a statement against the current system and vote the way we should all vote, on principles, not party names.
The sad thing is McCain isn't the only Republican who is making me feel this way. Newt Gingrich hasn't helped the situation either. He did a commercial for the hoax "Global Warming" with Nancy Pelosi. Doesn't he realize what he has done? That completely undermines the conservative ideologies he is suppose to stand for. He actually thinks that people can effect the climate one way or the other. It's a hoax people!!! How can you say CO2 is a pollutant when it is necessary to sustain life on the planet? Get a grip!!!!!
Sorry for the rant. Back to what I was saying now.
I have found that a lot of the true conservatives are realizing that the republican party has lost it's way. I have found that some of them are making their move to the most well known "third" party, the Libertarian Party. I am not saying we conservatives should make the move or even vote for a Libertarian, I am just saying we should all take a good look at the candidates between the Dems and the Reps and also compare what they believe and stand for against what the Libertarians believe and stand for. I think you will be surprised.

Fairtax
I have seen the Fair Tax Plan mentioned by a few candidates. Hardly any endorse it. I think the underlying reason for this is because it promotes less government and taxes everyone equally. The Democrats and most Republicans do not like this as it will be a tax break for people that work hard and save their money. They also do not like the idea of less government. They prefer bigger government, more spending, and higher taxes. Most of the poor on up through the middle class spend all of their money on unneeded things like electronics, high performance car parts, etc. A lot of the taxes are taken from the middle class all the way up to the upper class. The money the poor get back from EIC (Earned Income Credit), tax breaks, etc, is taken from these higher wage earners. This would make the poor pay their share as it is a sales tax on new goods and services rather than everything. I must say I like the idea of getting my full paycheck rather than loosing 23% of it before I even get it. Not to mention the sales tax I have to pay on everything I buy, 7% on the dollar. That equals 30%, and that's just off a standard paycheck if I have no overtime. It increases if I work more than my normal 40 hours a week. It would be nice being able to save money without being punished every year for it. It would also be nice to be able to spend at the minimum 2% less than what I do now if I bought something new. Currently the tax code taxes everything, and if it is sold twice it is taxed twice. That is asinine, how can you justify taxing something more than once? This is the reason we need to repeal the 16th amendment and enact the Fair Tax Plan. If you want to know more about the Fair Tax Plan visit: Fairtax.org

I have noticed....
I have noticed, and I know others have too, that a few candidates for president within the last 20 years or so have been running with campaign contributions from communist nations like China. Now, I don't know about you, but to me that is a tell tale sign of what these candidates are about. If the communists are supporting them there must be a reason. I believe that there are a few reasons for their support, one of them being the most obvious, they are the weaker candidate when it comes to national security, the other is that communist nations promote communist ideas and these candidates in their support of welfare, socialized medicine, and other socialist ideologies are in fact opening the door for communism. Not everyone agrees with that but, let's be honest, what do these communist nations offer their people? Socialized medicine is a big one, it amazes me that these people living in these nations come here, to the United States, for the health care they need. It's because the socialized programs won't or can't help them at least not in a timely fashion and here we are trying to push for the same thing. Ask anyone from these countries including the Brits. The other thing they offer is high taxes and what they feel is fair pay to everyone. So you work 40 hours shoveling snow you get a $5.00 an hour, the government said that was fair pay, they also take 60% of it in taxes, so now you have a whopping $80 for the week, well they have bread at the set price of $10 a loaf, what a deal!!! It is truly amazing that the people of this great nation are supporting these ideas. Maybe we should all look past the party affiliation and start looking at what the person actually stands for. Maybe we should start a new party, the Freedom Party. Just an idea.
Happy Mother's Day
I just wanted to say Happy Mother's Day to all you moms out there.
A special message to the moms in my life.....
Mom, thank you for everything. If it wasn't for your guidance and parenting I wouldn't be the man I am today. Thank you. I love you very much.
To my wife, Thank you for everything. You work hard raising our children and I recognize that. I know it's hard at times and I know there are times I am not always available to help, I am sorry for that. Hopefully that will change one day. Thank you. I love you, Baby.

The Second Ammendment
Excerpt, in quotes, taken from Constitution.org.
"Article the fourth [Amendment II]
A well regulated Militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed."
In recent years the fight to ban weapons and ammunition by certain citizens, organizations, and members of the government has taken it's toll. Forcing law-biding citizens to have waiting periods, register firearms with the government ( Why, are they planning on taking them someday?), and making them less available to people who are not criminals. These laws keep making it harder and harder for people who are not criminals to get something that they, according to our bill of rights, have a right to own.
Criminals, on the other hand, have no trouble getting guns of any kind. They are, after all, criminals and don't abide by these laws or any others. So any additional gun control laws can only be interpreted as the government trying to restrict our, the law-biding citizens, rights and freedoms more.
I can understand the move to get guns from the criminals on our streets but, spending thousands or possibly hundreds of thousands of dollars to pass a law trying to control the people that already obey the laws will not fix the problem. I also do not believe that removing guns from the general population will fix this. The only way to fix this is to make punishment for the criminals stiffer and not allow violent offenders back out on the street at all. Some states have already started doing this, using a 10-20-Life program or something similar. This has helped.
I believe, as many others do, the second amendment was put in there to help keep the government in check. The founding fathers of this nation believed in standing up to tyrannical governments. They also believed it was possible for this to occur in our nation other wise it wouldn't have been in the Bill of Rights. How else can you do this unless you have some means of defense, hence the right to keep and bear arms. Should we allow this right to be taken from us, we will have no way to defend ourselves from a possibly tyrannical government, which could be our own or from abroad, not to mention criminals.
One other thing I should add.... The criminals on our streets are cowards. Most take advantage of women, children, the elderly, and people that appear to be weak. The criminal automatically assumes that you have no means of self defense, especially if they take you on their own turf. This wouldn't be an issue if more of us carried concealed weapons. If more people had concealed weapons, legally of course, the criminal, being a coward, wouldn't dare mess with them for fear of being shot. The criminal likes to have the least amount of resistance that is why people are usually taken by surprise. If more people where carrying concealed carry permits then the tables would be turned and the violent crime rate would go down. Not to mention, if the criminal was confronted, chances are he/she wouldn't do it again.

What is "Freedom"?
I have seen other blogs and known many people that talk about freedom. Most of them if not all have different opinions of what freedom means. This is the definition posted on Merriam-Webster.com.
Main Entry: free·dom
Pronunciation: frē-dəm
Function: noun
Date: before 12th century
1)the quality or state of being free
2)the absence of necessity, coercion, or constraint in choice or action
3)liberation from slavery or restraint or from the power of another
4)the quality or state of being exempt or released usually from something onerous
5)the quality of being frank, open, or outspoken
I believe freedom is the right to be human. To think and do what you want in your own home so long as it doesn't infringe on someone else's freedoms. The problem is, there are always going to be rules and restrictions as to what you can and can't do, limitations. You can never be 100% free to do what you want (i.e. violence, theft, etc). These limitations are sometimes governed by religious beliefs, governments, moral beliefs, physical, mental, etc. Everyone on earth has these limitations. Even the most psychotic, deranged killer has their limits, I'm not sure what they are but, they do have limitations. The point of this is to have as few limitations as possible.

Who I am
My name is, for all intents and purposes of this site, Fil.
I am 30-something years old. I have a family and very few friends. I am employed and have a few hobbies like fishing, working on cars, Harley Davidson motorcycles, and enjoy fish keeping.
Being that I have only been around for 30-something years I do not consider my self a wise person. I believe wisdom comes with age. I believe that I have a long way to go before I could be considered wise. That being said, my views are just that, my views and they could be wrong only time will tell.
I have started this blog for two reasons:
1.) To share my feelings and opinions with others on our freedoms
2.) To hopefully meet people here and have intelligent conversations about our country and our freedoms.
Please post your ideas and thoughts. I may not agree with everything everyone says but, if you post an intelligent and non-threatening post I will be happy to engage in conversation with you.
Thanks and enjoy.
